Traveling to Cuba on a Whim

When my partner said he wanted to travel somewhere new for our second year anniversary, I blurted out, “Let’s travel to Cuba!”

My grandfather is from Cuba and both Cuba and Puerto Rico had been on my bucket list of countries to visit since I was 10.

To my surprise, my partner agreed and immediately purchased our tickets to Havana, Cuba.

One thing I love about my partner is he loves traveling and being spontaneous. As for me, I am naturally impulsive which is basically a synonym for spontaneity if you think about it.

Thanks to the travel ban that had lifted in 2016, Americans could now legally travel to Cuba from the United States for the first time in many years.

However, there were no tips or guides for Americans wanting to travel to Cuba in 2023.

Despite the fact that we could not find any recent information for Americans traveling to Cuba, we still took a chance and planned our trip in the span of 3 weeks.

One thing we could have done differently? Maybe avoiding being scammed by the locals.
