How did your daughter feel about your visits? Because I wouldn't necessarily say you were the MIL from Hell but if you weren't respecting boundaries or openly communicating when you would drop by, I can see that being a nuisance. My own mother would most likely be like that if I lived closer to her and boyfriends don't always get along with her because she's self-centered, nosy, and demanding. But, even then I would call her annoying, not a MIL from Hell.
