I guarantee the gunmen knew Henry and Joe Cole, maybe they were homeless men in the area, or neighbors who had watched them filming those last few months. They probably assumed the men had much more money than they did. As you said, there is a strong possibility the killers still live in that neighborhood. I absolutely believe it.
