I thoroughly enjoyed your article! Your writing is magnetic and a pleasure to read. And, you chose a handful of great films, despite their controversy. I have not seen The Devils or Elle but those are two I'd like to add to my list now.

I've only seen Passion of The Christ once and I've been terrified to see it again. The idea that this was real, brutal torture that had happened to people in those days (and in some places today) was too much to handle for my twelve-year-old mind. Though I clearly have PTSD from it, I don't think it was a bad film.
