To sum up, a brain overfed on news may not only be vulnerable to stress and psychological turmoil, but it may also respond to this overload by shutting out conflicting information and embracing the potentially blinkered and biased viewpoints of its news-drunk peers.
YES! During the quarantine of 2020, I was still working and attending school. I rarely watched the news and focused on my tasks and my social outings. My cousins and uncle though who were stuck at home 24/7 watching CNN and nothing else started to have a nasty, negative change about them. My cousins suddenly became ANGRY about everything. They screamed at me constantly for small issues. They blamed me for the spread of COVID-19 to America because I continued to work... in a hospital... lol. They were never like that before. It was like they became mentally unhinged and frightening to be around. Since then, I will not watch the news as much. I will read it here and there but I always take constant breaks and try to focus on what's most important and healthy for myself and other human beings.
